Keeping in line with my summer essential listening i am creating my list of what i think should be on iPods this winter, All suggestions shall acompanied by Youtube Clips (when aplicable)
I will also try to vary the genre of music when i can, as i am aware that many people do not like dubstep and drum and bass.
We are going to start off with an appropriatly named song for the winter -
London Elektricity (feat Elsa Esmeralda) - Elektricity Will Keep Me Warm (Acoutstic Version
Forthcoming on London Elektricity's Yikes! album, his a brilliant track, the original version has been translated into french, sweedish and spanish (all sung by Elsa). This is a track that will be high up on ym most played this winter.
For all you hospital heads out there, (i think it is only me?) i have this.
Rusko - Everyday (Netsky Remix)
Netsky is pretty much the best thing to come out of Belgium since i left it when i visited on holiday. This Rusko track was great to being with, but Netsky comes out and Makes it just that much better, I anticipate this one to be Big.
For a change of genre now -
Chipmink (Ft. Chris Brown) - Champion
Okay so this is not my usual style of music, but i have listened to this a few times and i started to enjoy it, it is a pretty good feel good track, and has a pretty good bass line to it. Has been out a while, and was posted to my facebook a while back so i think many of you will have heard it but it is still worth another go.
Another swtich up -
Hollywood Undead - Hear Me Now
Coming off their new album - American tragedy. This sogng is a brillint mix betwen genres, the whole album varies with the style of music, their last album Swan Songs was featured on my top 25 most played about 6 times for around 4 months after i bought it, their style is very diverse and even if this song is not for you there will be somethnig on the album. Follow up with Been to hell aswell.
Something for everyone now -
Katy B - Katy On a Mission
No iPod shall be complete without her this winter, her voice is perfect, the tune is amazing and the video is sumblime, there is little wrong with this song (possibly the ending but they have a replay buttn on youtube) Follow it up with Broken Record, Or lights On for maximum exposure.
English Music near its finest -
Professor Green (ft maverick Sabre) - Jungle
Yet to meet a person who dislikes this song, Pro Greens music style is also quite diverse. With a new album on the horizon and a nationwie tour of the Uk currently underway he is showcasing new music off the album, although this is off the previous one "Allive Till I'm Dead" it is still a great tune.
Yet another English Track -
Devlin (Ft. yasmin) - Runaway
The song speaks for it's self.
I suppose no music list would be complete without a brilliant Cover -
Friday - Rebeca Black (Matt Muholland Cover)
Taking a really terrible song and salvaging it, turning the crappy electro/autotune poppy crap and turn it into a work of art, big up Matt.
back to Dubstep i think i think -
Flux Pavillion - Bass Cannon
Taking the English carts by storm one spot at a time. When this tune was dropped at Sandwidges the place went nuts, it's a big tune that is driving the popularity of dubstep to new levels,
Also good by FP are - His Cracks Remix and His Gold Dust Remix
Back To English Music -
Plan B - She Said
I cannot remember if this featured on my summer essential listening list. But i don't care, it is a quality song.
Taken from his album "the defamation of Strickland Banks" it was the first single released and introduces him as a "soul singer" a massive change rom "Who needs actions when you got words" while his next album "the ballard od belmarsh" will be going back to his old style Plan B is showing mad diversity, big resect.
A brilliant mainstream tune -
Mumford and sons - Little Lion Man
Smashing onto the scene with this big tune, Mumford and sons are smashing it, even though it could be labled as "mainstream" i still love it, Having also jst released "the Cave" i forsee these guys being on the scene for a while to come yet.
For you Soppy Romantics -
Bruno Mars - Grenade
I just can't bring myself to describe this. Sorry
The Jack Adams highschool hit (more like primary school but whatever)
The Bloodhound Gang - The bad Touch
Have to go all the way back to 1999 for the release of this little beauty, rememerd most for the line 'Doing it baby like they do on the discovery channel" this tune is this seasons primary school hit.
Little Bit of Eminem Now -
Dr. Dre - I Need A Doctor (Explicit) ft. Eminem, Skylar Grey
A song featuring Eminem rapping about the respect he has for Dre because of him giving Em the change to become something.
The video, i think signifies the restoration of Dre's carrer shunning of the haters.
Haters Gonna Hate
and Finally The song that hasn't moved from the top spot of my itunes most played in over a year
Chase and Status (Ft. Plan B) - End Credits
Quite possibly my favrite song of all time! Yet to meet a person who doesnt like this song!
Reader Suggestions
Coming in all the way from Holland with this one,
Nero - Me & You (Dirtyphonics Remix)
I had forgotten about this one, Shot Roel!!. Dirtyphonics are smashing the European scene, their song vandals is still a top place holder in my top 25 most played.
I will also try to vary the genre of music when i can, as i am aware that many people do not like dubstep and drum and bass.
